Folks are always asking me what a TRX Training Summit is like, and I struggle to come up with a good answer. The real essence of the Summit is hard to put into words. Sure, I could rattle off the schedule, the events line-up, and the content we’re going to cover — which is all amazing — but it’s just so much more than that. In lieu of trying to describe the Summit in the literal sense, I’ll do my best to paint a picture.

First, a bit of background…

The “Summit” originated as an exclusive event that was just for TRX Course Instructors (if you’re not familiar with the TRX Course Instructors, they are the people who deliver all of our amazing courses). The idea behind it was simple enough…

  •   Get as many instructors together as possible
  •   Deliver the most innovative and cutting-edge information available
  •   Invigorate instructors with the TRX philosophy and the powerful culture that had begun to take shape around it

Ultimately, the goal of these early Summits was to deliver an event – with all features listed above – that would help the TRX Course Instructors grow alongside our rapidly growing brand. As part of this mission, we designed an experience that would help them become ever more capable and proficient at their craft, while empowering them to grow as fitness professionals and small business owners. The logic behind all of this was simple: our instructor cadre and our brand should be one and the same – representative of all the core values that we all felt so passionately about. (Insert TRX FACEUP)!

What actually happened was far more powerful than anything I could have envisioned.

On paper, these appeared to be nothing more than advanced education instructor training, with some fun mixed in; in actuality, they brought the group together in a way that was deep and profound. Sure, we designed challenging and unique activities meant to push everyone outside their comfort zones, but the transformative effects were astounding and exciting. Lifelong memories and deep connections were forged, birthing the essence of the #TRXFamily culture that we have today – and lucky for us, many of you have come to be a part that.

Fast Forward to 2013 when we decided to take our Instructor Summit model to the masses, fingers crossed that we could replicate these empowering experiences on a larger scale. To our delight, it worked. The TRX Training Summits were everything that we had hoped for and more. And as they say, the rest is history. Every Summit since has grown and evolved into something bigger and better.

So let’s go back to the original question: what’s a Summit really like?

It’s like the first week of college. The excitement and energy that comes with suddenly being thrust together with a huge group of your peers that share similar values, ambitions, lifestyles, and motivations.

It’s like a summer camp for fitness professionals. A complete escape from the day-to-day with high energy and fun tailored just for you at every turn.

It’s like going to Disneyland as a 6-year-old and getting to meet Mickey Mouse in person! An opportunity to listen and learn from the creators and founders of TRX and from the collective talent that comprises the master instructor team and other TRX faculty.

It’s like the gas pedal of professional development. Push down on it and watch your personal growth and training abilities accelerate at a pace far beyond what an individual can generate on their own.

It’s like a TRX total immersion. A deep dive into the confluence of science, best practices, culture, and lifestyle that are the essence of the TRX brand.

The TRX Summit is all of these things and so much more.

For me, the TRX Summit is something that our team spends 6 months preparing. Painstakingly planned, researched, and rehearsed. It is one of the biggest projects that we undertake every year. In my view, it is one of the most important things we do, not because of how it impacts the company but because of what it represents. It is the lifeblood of the brand. It is the experience that sums up everything about TRX that makes me proud to be one of the founders – and illustrates our commitment to the evolution of training and human performance. I see the transformative effect that the summit has on attendees and I feel a sense of deep satisfaction and joy. Above all, I am delighted that I get the opportunity to witness the ever-expanding TRX Family grow and achieve remarkable things.

The two days of the TRX Summit are likely the most grueling days of the year for me, and yet they are far and away the most rewarding, the most powerful, and the most fun.

So this year when I shout to the crowd: “What time is it?!” I sincerely hope that your voice is among the thousand that reply, “SUMMIT TIME!”

And I, my friends, can’t wait until Summit Time!

See you there,
